Bedazzled

Had another sparkling weekend!
Friday night we went to dinner at a new Vietnamese restaurant (a first for me). It was actually quite good. I chose a garlic noodle shrimp dish - came out piping hot and it was quite tasty.

After our dinner we scooted over to CoCo County and had a very fun night of laughs with old friends and new friends - never a dull moment in the Wood.

Saturday we met some friends for lunch (one of my favorite places - Chili's). After a great meal, I attacked some stores for holiday shopping. The crowds were out of control. I did manage to get a few deals.

Saturday night we had fun toasting, eating and laughing at a friend's holiday party. As if we weren't full enough, we had dinner at Vic Stewart's - the prime rib sandwich is so delicious - that's my new favorite.

Sunday was a full day filled with Livermore wineries, Hannah Nicole Winery and then a yummy spaghetti dinner with Mona & Peanut. Had another great time with friends and food (and yes, I am gaining weight - I will be on the attack in 2010). We even made chocolate chip cookies when we got home! Tis the season!

Hope you are all enjoying this festive season!

Calories/Birthdays/Parties

Hi all,

Had another awesome weekend!

Friday we went to our Keller Williams holiday party -- got a chance to dress up, eat great food, socialize and dance. Tons of fun!

Saturday I attacked the day with a spin class followed by cleaning my closet, shopping, meeting friends for lunch, and house cleaning.

Saturday night we celebrated my buddy, Monica's, birthday - had a great dinner at Vic Stewart's. She threw a surprise party for Peanut (his birthday is today) so we continued our celebrating at CoCo County for lots of vino, laughs and cake. Once they kicked us out, we continued the party at her house -- too much fun!

Sunday (with very few hours of sleep) I attacked the kitchen to make 4 dozen cookies to bring to a cookie exchange (may I say it was my first). It was so much fun -- we did tons of sampling, girl time, drinking, and story telling. I was delighted to bring home 4 dozen different cookies (along with their recipes). After the gathering, we had time to see the movie Brothers before I had my family over for our Sunday dinner. Way too many calories this weekend (but all well worth it).

Enjoy your week.

Amazement and Wonder

Every time I attend a Cirque de Soleil show, I leave in disbelief.

Saturday we had the opportunity of seeing "OVO" - a new Cirque production. It was held under the big top in San Francisco in the Pac Bell Park parking lot.

I LOVE the:

  • suspense

  • costumes

  • live music

  • acrobats

  • comedy

  • death dyfing acts

  • imagination

  • skill

  • lighting

  • themes

  • brilliance

  • amazement

If you have never had the chance to see such a production, I would highly recommend it; treat yourself; it's worth ever penny.

We have seen quite a few of Cirque's productions and never hesitate to go back for more. They are incredibly entertaining and mind-blowing. I love them!

This weekend I also had the chance to "hang" with my buddies Peanut and Mona - never a dull moment in their presence. We did some shopping at the Galleria in Roseville and then had a yummy dinner at Tres Agaves - let the tequilla flow. Fun times had by all. The unfortunate part is that it was on a Sunday which meant we were all facing work the next day - I guess we can't have it all - a day out with friends was well worth it.

Today was a new day - one filled with snow on the mountains of Clayton even reaching their streets; a very rare treat for everyone. It's a very cold/wet day (29 degrees when I left the house).

I will do my best to enjoy this day and embrace it's changes openly.

Have a great week.
