Enjoy Each Day
This past weekend, I tried to soak it all in.
Friday night we went to dinner with friends; so good to catch up and laugh.
Saturday I started my day with a 3 miles walk around Contra Loma with Monica - see how pretty our walk was by the attached photo. Spring is in the air and the hills are so plush green.
Saturday afternoon I went to see the Celine Dion movie - Thru The Eyes of The World. This performer is amazing and has traveled the grobe; her compassion for music and song is amazing. She has touched and inspired so many people throughout the world - the movie did a great job of capturing her adventure over a year of her touring the world.
Saturday night we join some friends for a fish taco dinner - thank you to Carlos and Roxy for a delicious meal! It was great to get together and share.

Sunday was my traditional family dinner - so fortunate to be able to spend time with my parents weekly and learn more and more about their lives with each passing week. They are amazing people and wonderful parents. The evening ended with some salsa dancing - a great workout!
Today was a beautiful day and I tried to enjoy the weather by pulling some weeds - not too glamorous but at least I was outdoors.
Enjoy this week.

This weekend was no exception in the arena of great weekends!
Friday
Went to see the movie "Valentine's Day" - very cute and clean. Then we had dinner with Monica and Peanut at String's - of course yummy pasta.
Saturday
Embarked for a day excursion with Monica and Peanut- went to the Maverick Surf Competition in Half Moon Bay. The waves topped 50 feet - the competition was fierce. It was a gorgeous day -- 67 degrees, no wind, and sunny skies. We drove from there to San Francisco for a tour of Pier 39 and dinner at the Fisherman's Grotto - they have the best clam chowder I have ever had. The view was spectacular and the setting devine. After a full belly, we walked to the Buena Vista for some famous Irish coffees - it's a great place to people watch and also see the Cable Car turn station. We even made a jont over to the irish pub across the street for some live entertainment. It was a full day of sun, fun, food, and action.
Sunday - Valentine's Day
I showered Greg with some V Day gifts (shorts, T-shirts, See's candies, and a personalized photo book that I made. Completed a lot of house work and yard work. Started spring cleaning by dusting the blinds, washing windows, and removing cobwebs off the 24 foot ceiling. Greg took me to lunch at the Texas Roadhouse - he knows I love that place! Completed our night with a salsa lesson followed by Baskin Robbins ice cream.
Monday
Yes - it was a three-day weekend! Can't tell you how much I love those!!! Started the day with a 5-mile bike ride followed by more yard work. Ended the day with a prime rib dinner at Peanut's.
It was an outstanding weekend filled with love, laughter, adventure, and great food!
Until the next long weekend,
Cheers,

Oh When the Saints....

go marching in for a touchdown, everyone screams! The New Orlean Saints won this years Super Bowl.
We celebrated with our friends in Mardi Gras style with beads, chili, gumbo, crab, appetizers, and plenty of drinks to go round. I was lucky enough to win $50! It was a fun day of celebration, fun, and food.
Today, however, was a day of slow pace and fatigue. We partied too yard yesterday and I'm paying the price today. I was dragging my feet all day! I'm so very thankful I don't drink - can't even begin to wonder what a hangover must feel like.
Thanks to Mona and Peanut for hosting a great party!

Love is in the Air

Happy February 1!
Love is in the air!
What is love to you?
For me, love is:
- The unconditional love for my children, husband and family
- The love for life (happy I am alive)
- Loving simple things:
- a warm summer day
- the smell of spring
- surprises
- clean spaces
- great food
- photography
- a cured yard
- nature
- bright flowers
- hearing from a distant friend
- the gym
- exploring new territory
- crossing items off my bucket list
- seeing my children grow, mature, and realize
- laughing
- a cloudless sky
- giving a smile to a stranger (it's free)
- Time spent with my dear friends
- Recycling through wonderful memories in my mind
- Giving
- Cherishing times I've spent with my girls
- Marriage
- Helping
I hope you all take time this month to reflect on what love means to you and maybe share a little love with someone that needs it (the elderly, a needy neighbor, a struggling friend, the homeless).
To truly love is to act in love.
You are loved,
V
